About the author
Valerie Higley has enjoyed being a bus driver since the year 2000. Having worked for two of the three biggest student transport companies in the country, she has received more than two decades worth of safety training. She achieved four-star driver status in the metrics-based safety system used in the First Student Company. Valerie has also volunteered in the various children’s ministries at her church since 1996. When not driving, she can be found making a variety of different things from produce in her garden and with milk from the goats. She is active in the performance programs offered through the American Dairy Goat Association. Married since 1997, she has three adult children, two beautiful grandchildren, and a menagerie of dogs, goats, ducks, chickens, pigs, and supervising all of them, Lucy Goosey.
